General Event Information
Some events taking place in a Clearview Township facility or on Clearview Township property, including in our parks or on the roadways or sidewalks, require the organizer to have liability insurance and to name the Township of Clearview as insured.
High-Risk Events require insurance; (ie: Parades, Fireworks, Leagues, Tournaments, Sporting competitions, Training Camps, Athletic Schools, Festivals and Fairs) in the amount of $2 million dollars listing the Corporation of the Township of Clearview as an additional insured. Clearview requires that you obtain a minimum of $2 million in liability insurance. You can obtain insurance by contacting your insurance broker, by finding an insurance agent online or in the phone book or you can contact the insurance company that Clearview uses. Their website is www.marsh.ca/enfp. Once you've done so, you will either receive an auto-generated quote or it will be flagged for review. Business renting facilities must show proof of insurance in the amount of $2million dollars listing the Corporation of the Township of Clearview as an additional insured.

Low-Risk Events
Private groups, community groups and individuals hosting Low-risk types of events do not require insurance, regardless of whether alcohol is being served. Low-risk events include:

• Sidewalk sales
• Consumer/trade/travel shows
• Conventions
• Bingo/Raffle/Charity
• Antique shows
• Art/Craft shows
• Dog/Cat shows
• Garden or Historical tours
• Family Gatherings
• Auto/Boat/RV shows
• Flea Market/Garden Market
• Buskers
• Fishing Derby (no speed events)
• Theatre Performance
• Canoe, rowing, swimming, sailing regatta
• Skating
• Auctions and Bazaars
• Badminton, Bowling, Curling, Horseshoes, Tennis, Dance Lessons, Baseball, Basketball
• Volleyball, Swimming with a Lifeguard
Events happing in Clearview Township that are serving and consuming alcohol must adhere to the Municipal Alcohol Policy.
Township Approvals
This is a permit to allow an individual, organization or business to host a special event within Clearview Township on private property or lands that are designated for gatherings. This does not apply to events and festivals on municipal property, including parks, trails, recreation facilities and streets.
This is a permit that is issued by Clearview Township to accommodate the application of Special Occasion Permit through the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario

As permitted by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, Clearview Township has the authority to issue lottery licences for:
- Break Open Tickets for local organizations; and
- Raffle and Blanket Lotteries for total prizes of $50,000 and under
- Bingo events with prize boards of up to $5,500

This permit allows vendors of food, merchandise or services to sell on lands owned by the Township for events, or at locations, approved by the Township.
Public fireworks displays require Township approval and fee is charged per permit issued.
Under section 2.58, the definition for the exemption is as follows, "Township approved exhibition, festival and events - shall mean, an exhibition, festival or event that is run by the Township, financially supported by the Township or an event that has obtained a Special Events Permit by the Township".

Event Support & Assistance
Clearview Township offers equipment rental to help support local events. Available equipment includes: Pop Up Tents, Barricade Fencing, Portable Wash Station, Cord Safety Covers and Event Attendance Counters and more. For more information, please refer to the application below.
An ideal way to promote your event is through our street banner program. Advertise your next event by displaying your banner across Highway 26 in Stayner and Mill Street in Creemore. To request your banner to be displayed prior to your event and for a full listing of requirements, please complete the Banner Application Form.

To help promote community events, please submit your event listing to the Clearview Township community events calendar.
Activity Guide
The Clearview Activity Guide is published twice per year and mailed to every household in the Township. Events can be submitted free of charge and will be displayed on the community events listing.
