Accessible Sport, Health & Leisure and Youth Programs

Clearview Township in partnership with local organizations, businesses and individuals provides a variety of recreation and leisure programs to meet the needs of residents.  For a complete listing, please view the most recent edition of the Clearview Activity Guide.


Active Communities Project (ACP)

With the Resilient Communities Fund Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), the Clearview Active Communities project aims to create sustainable programs for all ages and abilities, expand programs at the Youth Centre, and undertake research and engagement to shape future active recreation opportunities.

Active Communities Project Programs

  • Youth Commercial Dance - join us this spring in a warm and supportive environment, with a focus on health and well-being, our Youth Commercial Dance program is about cultivating talent, passion, and a life-long love for dance.

    Participants will strengthen their technique, enhance their musicality and challenge themselves in an inspiring and encouraging class environment. Perfect for all levels and abilities.

    Facilitated by local choreographer and director Erin McAndrew, this program provides lasting foundations for physical and artistic engagement, as well as opportunities for learning and connecting with new friends at the studio! We will introduce concepts of choreography and facilitate each dancer's own creative exploration, meaning they get to help choreograph as well! Together over the 6 weeks we will develop a short piece of choreography, and cover a variety of dance styles, think Tik Tok, music video commercial style vibes.

    Where: Stayner Arena and Community Centre (North Hall)

    When: Thursdays, May 15 - June 26, 4:30PM - 5:30PM (excluding May 22)

    Age: Gr 6+

  • Join us for NEW youth drop in gym night in Stayner consisting of sports and games. It is a great way for young people to stay active and healthy. This program provides a fun and engaging environment where kids can learn new skills and improve their physical fitness.

    When: Friday, 6:00PM-7:30PM

    January 17, 2025-June 20, 2025.

    No gym nights on all Holidays and PA days

    Where: Clearview Meadows Elementary School, 12 Locke Ave, Stayner, ON L0M 1S0

  • Active Aging is a low impact fitness class designed for adults 55+. Weight training is a great way to help reduce sarcopenia (muscle loss), improve bone density and coordination. Step into a stronger and more confident you!

    When: Mondays, 4:30PM - 5:30PM, July 21 - August 18

    Where: Stayner Arena and Community Centre

    Cost: Free

  • The Learn to Run 5K program is designed for youth who are beginners and want to build their endurance and confidence to complete a 5K race. Through a structured training plan, participants gradually increase their running distance, improving stamina and fitness levels over time. With guidance and support, this program ensures a fun and achievable experience for anyone, regardless of prior running experience. Get ready to cross the finish line with a sense of accomplishment!

    When: Wednesdays, April 16 – June 1, 5PM

    Where: Stayner Arena and Community Centre

  • Stay active and connected with our Social Walking Program! Enjoy low-impact exercise and meet new friends in a fun, supportive group setting. Perfect for all fitness levels—step into a healthier you today!

  • Join us for a fun-filled summer at our Youth Park Program! Starting July 8th, we'll be at Centennial Park in Stayner from 1-12 pm, offering exciting activities for kids of all ages. Then, head over to New Lowell from 2-4 pm for more games, sports, and outdoor fun. Don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy a day of community and adventure!

    When: Tuesdays, 10AM – 12PM in Stayner and 2PM – 4PM in New Lowell

    Where: Centennial Park and New Lowell Recreation Park

    Age: Gr 6 and up

    Cost: Free

  • Explore the beauty of Clearview Township, through a captivating hiking series. Discover scenic trails that wind through lush forests, rolling hills, and breathtaking viewpoints. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, these trails offer a mix of easy walks and challenging hikes, showcasing the region’s natural charm. Unplug, reconnect with nature, and enjoy Clearview’s hidden gems!

    Where: Various Locations around Clearview Township

  • Short Mat bowling is Similar to lawn bowling however is played on a 45ft mat. The objective of the game is to get your bowls closest to the jack and outscore your opponents. Come try this new and exciting sport! No experience required.

    When: Returning October 2025

    Where: Stayner Community Centre, 269 Regina St, Stayner ON

  • Clearview proudly supports the Cybergnomes Robotics teams, including the Cybergnomes Team 2013 and VEX IQ. If you’re looking to learn new skills, gain fun and unique experiences and meeting amazing people. Team 2013 is the oldest registered robotics team in Simcoe County and is made up of students from area schools.

    Get your kids off the couch and get them exercising their minds with Cybergnomes Robotics.

  • Tai Chi is a gentle set of movements that focuses on restoring, improving and maintaining health.  Benefits include improved circulation, better balance and posture, increased strength and flexibility, and reduced stress.
